Our Story
WI Lifestyle Magazine is the product of the life journey of its creator, Kyle "Difference Maker" Grant. That being stated, the magazine was not accomplished without the collective work of a "Caribbean Tribe". It is the result of both failed and blossoming relationships, networking, imagination, creativity, resourcefulness, innovation and universal alignment (if you believe in such things).
As a freelance writer, Kyle Grant endured countless rejections from various publications. The aspiring writer found noteworthy success in publications such as The Anglican Outlook Newspaper, MACO Magazine, Central Beat and CSI Magazine. Additionally, the sole fashion model under his management decided to detach from his services in 2018. Kyle also found marginal success as a Creative Director. Proposals and idea pitches were either poached or given no opportunity to see the light of day. Before becoming our esteemed Editor-in-Chief, Kyle Grant was once ridiculed and called a "nobody".

Mr. Grant married his background in Information Technology together with the lessons learned from his "failed" projects in culture to conjure West Indian (WI) Lifestyle Digital Magazine. The "negativity" only fortified his character and spurred him on to prove his naysayers wrong. Although the premiere edition was published in 2021 during a period of COVID restrictions, it is truly the result of a lifelong journey that spanned over three and a half decades.

After assessing his resources, Kyle Grant took the big leap to manifest the idea of a Caribbean eMagazine. Self-belief, a passion for everything Caribbean and the talent accessible to him was all that was needed to see the work come to fruition. The aim of the magazine is to highlight the food, music, dance, people, heritage, sites and endless beauty inherent in the region. The magazine is a long way from being a true representation of its home region. However, it has established a loyal community that fosters growth and can endure the perpetual journey towards its mission.
